When people visit artkohaus, they’ll see collections of patterns inspired by nature—flowers gathered on quiet walks, leaves admired for their intricate details, and colours that reflect the changing seasons. What they may not immediately see is the reason behind it all.
So I wanted to share my “why.”
artkohaus wasn’t created simply to sell products. It was born from a desire to create something meaningful—something that brings a sense of peace into everyday life.
For years, creativity quietly waited in the background while life moved forward with work, responsibilities, and the routines we all know so well. Like many people, I had a creative spark that became dormant over time. It never disappeared; it was simply waiting to be rediscovered.
That rediscovery came through surface pattern design.
It reminded me to slow down and notice the beauty that has always been there—the delicate veins of a leaf, the imperfect shape of a wildflower, the calming rhythm of repeating patterns, and the quiet inspiration found in everyday nature.
artkohaus exists to transform ordinary moments into peaceful ones through thoughtfully designed surface patterns inspired by nature and everyday life, while reminding others—and myself—that creativity is always worth rediscovering.
Many of the designs you’ll find here begin on my daily walks around my neighbourhood. I often find myself stopping to admire a flower, collecting fallen leaves, or taking photographs of plants that most people might walk past. Back in my studio, those small moments become sketches, motifs, and eventually patterns that find their way onto products designed to be part of your everyday life.
My hope is that each design does more than simply decorate an item.
I hope it creates a feeling.
A moment of calm while enjoying your morning coffee.
A smile as you pack for your next adventure.
A sense of comfort as you write in a journal, wrap a thoughtful gift, or simply surround yourself with things that make you feel at home.

Another reason artkohaus means so much to me is because it reminds me that creativity doesn’t have to be perfect. It simply asks us to begin.
